Naxion Energy Announces Sodium-Ion Energy Storage Systems in India
Naxion Energy announced the launch of its Sodium-ion energy storage systems designed and manufactured in Coimbatore. The platform integrates an inbuilt battery, inverter, and solar MPPT and is positioned as an alternative to lead-acid backup systems.
The company stated that the systems support high-rate charging and discharging and can operate high inductive loads such as air conditioners, compressors, pumps, and industrial tools. The storage units are available in 3.5 kW, 5 kW, and 10 kW models, and each model’s battery capacity can be expanded.
Naxion also announced its plan to establish a fully localized Sodium-ion battery ecosystem in India to reduce dependence on imported materials and strengthen long-term energy security.
Abishek Reddy, CEO, Naxion Energy India, said, “Our goal is much larger than introducing a new battery. We are building the backbone for India’s future energy systems, safe solutions, fully local, and accessible to every market segment. Sodium-ion gives India the rare opportunity to establish an indigenous supply chain without dependency on scarce imports. With this platform, our strategy is to scale across high-demand sectors, collaborate with OEMs, and enable mobility and equipment manufacturers to transition to cleaner and more reliable power sources. As we expand, our focus is on manufacturing efficiency, product diversification, and forming partnerships that help deploy Sodium-ion technology at a national scale. Every advancement we make takes us one step closer to energy independence, and we’re committed to leading that shift.”
