Lucknow Leads Under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana

Lucknow leads in rooftop solar installations. By April 15, 3,133 rooftop solar plants were installed in the city.

More than 87,000 rooftop solar plants have been installed in Lucknow under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Data for January, February, March, and April has been released.

The increase in installations is linked to higher electricity use, electric vehicle demand, and cost considerations. Subsidies from central and state governments and support from DISCOMs enabled faster installations. Other districts in Uttar Pradesh are also increasing rooftop solar adoption.
