Sunsure Energy begins power supply to APL Apollo in Uttar Pradesh

Sunsure Energy, a renewable power producer in India, has started supplying solar power to Apollo Pipes Limited and Apollo Metalex Pvt. Ltd., both part of the APL Apollo Group (BSE: 533758, NSE: APLAPOLLO), a producer of structural steel tubes and pipes. Sunsure will supply 10.5 million units of renewable energy annually from its plant in Mahoba, U.P., enabling the companies to offset 7,500 metric tonnes of CO2e emissions each year. This supply will meet over 50% of the power requirements for Apollo Pipes and Apollo Metalex with renewable energy.

APL Apollo Tubes Limited, with a production capacity of 3.6 million tonnes per annum, has prioritized an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, aiming to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. The company has signed with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to reduce 25% of scope 1 & 2 emissions per metric ton of steel by 2030 and to provide renewable energy to all manufacturing plants by 2025.
