Vikram Solar expands capacity by 1 GW in WB, upgrades Chennai facility

Vikram Solar Limited, a solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer in India, Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, has expanded its manufacturing capacity by 1 GW at its Falta facility in West Bengal. Additionally, the company has upgraded manufacturing lines at its Oragadam facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to produce technology modules, including TOPCON and HJT.

With this expansion, Vikram Solar’s total annual production capacity has increased to 4.5 GW. The Falta project, which began with equipment installation on December 5, 2024, has completed its planned capacity expansion. The Chennai facility’s upgrade, initiated on July 19, has been completed, enhancing production capabilities at the Oragadam plant.

Vikram Solar, operating in 39 countries, had a 3.5 GW capacity as of March 31, 2024. It is listed in PVEL’s reliability scorecard and BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 ranking, with a network of 41 distributors, 64 dealers, and 67 system integrators in India.
